I know, I know.. most people still don’t think about eloping in Alabama, but I’m here to tell you that should change, stat! I have noticed a shift of more non-traditional couples eloping here (as they should) because we have so many diverse landscapes in this beautiful state! Appalachian mountain foothills, caverns, rolling hills, bayous, and even beaches right on the Gulf of Mexico… you get it.
Considering that, and the fact that I’m an Alabama elopement photographer who lives in Gulf Shores- working with Claire & Travis was the perfect fit.
These two were set on having a unique elopement at Fort Morgan on Mobile Bay that felt both easy and authentic, simply focusing on getting married while still creating a memorable experience. I was honored that they trusted me to capture this once in a lifetime event and couldn’t wait to spend the day with them!

By the way… my elopement packages include detailed planning assistance, a ceremony officiant, AND your photos. With every elopement I research the information we’ll need for licenses and permits, map out our locations and timeline, and even find your perfect officiant if you choose to have one. It’s one of the most common reasons that the couples I’ve worked with choose to elope- simplicity and WAY less stress than planning a traditional wedding.

And what can I even say about Claire and Travis’ unique Gulf Shores, Alabama elopement at Fort Morgan, other than what a DREAM this day was? From the gorgeous locations and perfect weather, to the quiet moments and all of Claire’s small details, it’s safe to say this was one of my favorite Gulf Coast, Alabama elopements of the year. So, after a couple months of tweaking our timeline and scoping out locations that would fit our timeline and their vision, they packed up and drove down (with the boat, of course) for their Gulf Coast, Alabama elopement at Fort Morgan.
Adding Personal Touches to Create a Unique & Romantic Alabama Elopement
Claire and Travis loved the historical feeling that Fort Morgan offered, and it was a fabulous choice to make their elopement feel both personal and unique. Claire chose a vintage inspired tea-length dress while Travis was looking extra sharp in his suit from J. Crew.
Small touches like her seashell kitten heels from Katy Perry brought everything together perfectly!
With the addition of some minimalist dried florals, a simple cake and champagne- we had everything we needed for their Alabama elopement at Fort Morgan.

Finding Your Perfect Alabama Elopement Photographer
Like I said, Alabama elopements are on the rise and I am beyond excited to see all of these adventurous couples following their hearts! I’ve currently got a few more elopements and intimate weddings on deck to blog about, and even more in the works- I can’t wait to be a part of these amazing days.
I just have to add that I’m proud of these couples for putting themselves first and choosing to do something that feels right for them! Eloping is a much more intimate and personal way to celebrate than a traditional wedding and it allows so much flexibility to make it authentic to each couple. Not to mention, lots of adventure and getting to visit epic locations like these!
